Education Series Pt. 4: School Security
Education Series Pt. 4: School Security

AIR DATE: August 22, 2011

Author and reporter Annette Fuentes has travelled the country and visited numerous schools to see what sort of security measures were in place to keep kids safe.  She found many schools using metal detectors, security cameras and zero tolerance policies that challenged student's rights.  How far should we go to protect our children?  And, are Clark County Schools safe?

What would happen if we gave students the right to pick the school they feel best suited for instead of telling them where they must attend. What if we conducted evaluations eliciting the students strengths and weaknesses, wishes, goals, educational expectations and held them accountible instead of prisoner. I believe students aren't safe when they are mixed in with students who are hopeless and feel helpless.

this guest is an "author" when was the last time she sat in a classroom with a surly 200+ pound teen, addled brained with testosterone poisoning...Be honest if parents did parenting at home than zero tolerance would not be an issue in our public schools....what a bunch of drivel...if you don't like it parents...home school or put your loving offspring in a private school.
