We are coming up on a decade since the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center in New York and the Pentagon outside Washington. The terrorists apparently made a stop in Las Vegas but the reason why now seems lost to history. As the 10th anniversary approaches we talk to Las Vegans about their recollections of the attack and what they think is the significance for us now.

COMMENTS:
Hello KNPR, I'm enjoying the show. On September 11th, I lost my religion (Islam). The religion of my forefathers is seen as the responsible agent of death and mayhem. Through the years since, I tried to make sense of it since to see if there are things I could read or people that I could talk to and nobody has really addressed the core issue here. From my observation, my fellow coreligionists are not sincere about addressing the core issue here- why the hate? If you go to any given mosque, you don't really see sincere lectures or people sincerely trying to address the issue and preach more love and tolerance. Imams and teachers of Islam should talk more about Tolerance and coexistence that what The Prophet did 1400 years ago. They are wasting valuable time to reach out the community. In the face of what the nation is facing, I will gladly be searched and profiled at airports than blown up to pieces. These are signs of the Time.
