As Zappos prepares to move its headquarters from Henderson to downtown Las Vegas the demand for housing in the area might be on the rise. Realtor, Jack Levine recently told the Las Vegas Sun he has a stack of buyers looking for high rise living downtown, they include teachers, artists and Zappos employees. Levine also says prices remain depressed as a result of the economic crash. Meanwhile at least one builder has been approved for construction of new apartment space downtown and the City of Las Vegas is hearing plans for even more. But with signs of the bust still present around the city is more building a good idea? And how big is the demand for downtown living? We discuss what's going on in the downtown housing market.
