The US Postal Service's Crisis
The US Postal Service's Crisis

AIR DATE: October 5, 2011

The United States Postal Service is in bad financial shape.  Some are calling to end Saturday service, others want the postal service privatized completely.
We speak with former US Representative James Bilbray, a current member of the USPS Board of Governors about the precarious state of the US Postal Service, and what post office closures may mean to rural Nevadans.

Mr. Bilbray may have misspoke. The Postal Service uses pack horses to bring mail to the Havasupai, in the Grand Canyon, not the Hualapai.

Ending Saturday deliveries is a definite positive measure. Another is eliminating the discount rates used by the politicians, junk mailers, and others. Make them pay the same rates as we, the general public, pay.
