The surest sign of problem gambling is when you've lost all your money and keep on losing it. But what if problem gambling could be detected before you'd emptied your wallet into a slot machine or left in on the card table? Some recent research suggests that it is possible to do that. And what will that mean for the gaming industry? Will it force casinos (and in the future, Web sites) to stop the gamblers before they lose their roll.

COMMENTS:
This gentleman from the Bellagio couldn't be a bigger liar. I've been a cocktail server for six years and I have NEVER seen the casino turn a gambler away--even after they were completely drunk! I've also NEVER received any training provided by my employer about recognizing problem gambling amongst other employees OR customers. This guy wants to pretend that all the money going to research on problem gamblers came from the casinos like they're doing us some huge favor, please, give me a break! The casinos, slot machine designers, and so on spend MUCH more money figuring out how to make it MORE addictive with such practices as in using chips rather than cash and slit machines that put gamblers into a trance!
