COMMENTS:
Joe is typical head in sand arch-type selling 150 years of awful mining practice history as tourism draw. Reason Newmont, Barrick are mining in desolate areas is there are FEW precious metal rich Comstocks in Nevada where people came to live years past. Present work force drive daily great distances for best wages in the state and housing is provided in some areas as well to get them there. The old miners are dead and gone and will NEVER pay to restore natural beauty of the area as Comstock fully plans and is REQUIRED to do by law IF and when they make the funds dedicated up front to do so. Storey Cnty admin sees the full picture and knows full well the bootstraps are there to move on from 1942 and secure a future with good management and mining practices being used daily in the remote outback areas Joe seems to wish to protect instead.
