Nevada Ballet Theatre: Balanchine, Swordplay and Other Dancing Fun
Nevada Ballet Theatre: Balanchine, Swordplay and Other Dancing Fun

AIR DATE: October 21, 2011

If you think ballet is nothing but tutus and point shoes, think again!  The Nevada Ballet Theatre kicks off its fall season with Depeche Mode music and LOTS of swordplay.  They’re calling it “Dance Dance Dance,” and you’ll see plenty of it at the Paris Theatre this Oct. 29-30 when dancers from Las Vegas and Chicago share the stage.  We talk to the artistic directors of both companies of how they're turning traditional ballet on its head, and what lies ahead for the Nevada Ballet.
James Canfield, artistic director, Nevada Ballet Theatre
Glenn Edgerton, artistic director, Hubbard Street Dance Chicago
