In anticipation of federal legislation to legalize online gambling big gaming companies are investing in technology and websites to prepare.

 

The Review Journal reported this week that Boyd Gaming and MGM Resorts International have partnered to create poker websites for American gamblers once Congress makes online gambling legal. Station Casino owners are also jumping on board, they've purchased a California tech start-up that specializes in online gaming sites. Despite the rush to get in on the online gaming bandwagon, Congress hasn't been enthusiastic about passing an online gambling bill. Meanwhile, as companies jockey to position themselves for online gambling, state lottery commissioners have come out in opposition of online gaming saying it will hurt ticket sales.
