Dylan Thomas, 19
Dylan Thomas, 19

AIR DATE: November 15, 2011

Dylan Thomas only lived to 39, but he was one of the world's most famous poets.  The ode to his dying father, "Do not go gentle into that good night," cemeted him as one of poetry's greats, before he died of alcohol poisoning.  Remarkably, he wrote one-third of his literature by the time he was 20.  So who was this genius teenager?  Actor Philip Watt explores the poet as a young man with his one-man play, "Dylan Thomas, 19."  We speak with the actor and director.
Philip Watt performs "Dylan Thomas, 19" on Nov. 15 at 7:30 p.m. at UNLV's Barrick Museum Auditorium.

I have long been a fan of Philip Watt, and hope he brings this show to the New York area...

Hi Jill! Well, the estate, because of the centenary of the Welsh bard, chose to shut my show down. But I've moved onto jazz, as you know from seeing the staged reading this summer: Hoping to bring it to NYC this next summer!
