The Green Berets have won an almost mythical status during the Vietnam War. They were the crack troops that would win the war against the counterinsurgents. History did not play out as predicted and former Green Beret H. Lee Barnes gives a different view of fighting in those conflicts in his new memoir, When We Walked Above the Clouds. He will be reading from the book 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Paseo Verde Library, 280 S. Green Valley Parkway, Henderson.
