Kristen Hertzenberg: Still Singing After Thyroid Cancer

AIR DATE: November 29, 2011
LISTEN TO M3U | DOWNLOAD MP3

Kristen Hertzenberg sings as "Christine" in "Phantom: The Las Vegas Spectacular," and she's been singing opera and musicals most of her life.  She finally got around to making her first CD, when her doctor noticed her swollen throat.  And that's when Kristen got the shock of her life: she had thyroid cancer.  She needed surgery, and she might not sing again.  Kristen talks about her new album, "Holidays from the Heart," and what cancer taught her about faith and starting over.

Kristen Hertzenberg performs with Travis Cloer and the Las Vegas Master Singers on Dec. 17 at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. at UNLV's Ham Hall.
