Stifling gridlock between Democrats and Republicans in Congress continues during squabbles about how to make up for the payroll tax cut. We know, you're probably not surprised. But still, many important decisions, including which federal programs will continue to get funding center on the proposal to increase taxes on America's wealthiest people. Will gridlock continue over such taxing issues, or are solutions on our nation's horizon?

Also, how do Republicans in Congress feel about the rise of Newt Gingrich in the republican primaries? Is he a viable candidate, or does he carry too much baggage from yesteryear?
