The Nevada Boom - Mining

Mining is the one very healthy spot in the Nevada economy right now. Gold has risen 160 percent in price in the last five years. But the mining industry is a perennial target for those who think Nevada needs more revenue. The industry is now supervised by a commission to check its accounting but will it face higher taxes in after this year's election? What impact might that have?

The mining companies have done so much for the state. The history is there and continues to be to this day. Jobs, and flipping the bill for infrastructure to some northern nevada communities. How many companies exist today that take care of their employees, and their communities, outside of mining, Can you name any?

Cry me a river, Mr Mining . You're trashing the environment, and you need to pay. Yes, you have some polished response to every argument, but its pretty easy to see it's all rhetoric to protect the gazillionaires.
