The Ward 6 Recall Election
The Ward 6 Recall Election

AIR DATE: April 11, 2012

Recall elections are difficult to organize and the organizers of this recall have had a false start but they finally got the signatures and so Las Vegas City Councilman Steve Ross will have to be re-elected to serve out the remainder of his term. He's got some big names backing him and he denounces the recall as a vengeful effort funded by disgruntled car dealer Joe Scala. But planning commissioner Byron Goynes has thrown his hat into the ring. They both join us in the studio to make their case for the Ward 6 Councilman's seat.

I just listened to the interview. Frankly, Steve Ross is still clueless when it comes to thinking that only a disgruntled car dealer wants him out of office. Steve Ross has alienated not just the car dealer but rather thousands of ward 6 residents. His unethical conduct (as confirmed by the state ethics panel), his deceit about not accepting a pay raise while campaigning for reelection and his special interest pandering for campaign contributions and then voting for the special interests against the wishes of the residents of ward 6 are what caused this recall. I wonder where the truth really "lies" between these 2 people. I didn't know who Byron Goynes was before this but I now wonder how qualified the rest of the planning commissioners are.

Steve Ross claims he saved thousands of homes in Ward 6 from foreclosure. How did he do this and where exactly.

The Kyle Canyon Gateway project is a bad idea. Why build on the way to Mt Charleston with empty houses all over the valley?
