If you're hanging out at the "Don't Tell Mama" piano bar in downtown Fremont, you might be surprised to see a trumpeter hop on stage with the pianists.  That's Joey Pero.  The New York native has been playing since he was 12, and he's shared the stage with musicians like Maynard Ferguson.  Wynton Marsalis even took him under his wing when Joey studied at Juilliard; Joey plays a golden trumpet that Wynton gifted to him.  His first CD, "Resonance," features Phoebe Snow and other longtime singers.  Joey Pero joins us in-studio to talk about the magic of the trumpet.
