Su Limbert: Making Art from Broken Pieces

AIR DATE: March 2, 2012
LISTEN TO M3U | DOWNLOAD MP3

A little girl sits on a hill of rainbow shards, reaching for a toy boat bobbing in a sea of broken plates.  That's the newest window display at the Contemporary Arts Center - and the creation of local jewelry maker, Su Limbert.  Su sells her jewelry and vintage art on the online DIY art site, Etsy.com, and now she's bringing her love of vintage plates, Victorian silhouettes, and storybook fantasy to large-scale artwork.  We talk to Su about how she uses childhood memories and broken plates to make her vision of art whole.
