Last week, Nevada's longest-serving state senator, Bill Raggio, passed away. He was elected as District Attorney of Washoe County in 1958 and then as state senator in 1972. His long career in public service has been chronicled by Michael Archer in his biography of Raggio, A Man of His Word. Archer tells us the lesser-known highlights of Raggio's long career.
