The Smith Center for The Performing Arts opens its doors this weekend with a black tie gala to celebrate the debut of one of downtown Las Vegas' biggest cultural and redevelopment project. The center is the cornerstone of Symphony Park which developers say will eventually include residences, a casino hotel and other projects.
Yes, it is wonderful the Smith Center is opening ! My hopes are that beyond the wonderful progrms they are promoting is that the education proposed component becomes a wonderful success.
This can start with people attending the April 11th concert featuring local musicians in 'Sousa in the 21st Century', a community concert in Support of Arts Education in Clark County. Tickets can be purchase now through many of the local high school band programs.

The title of the program should be "Curtain RISES..." not RAISES. I would expect correct language usage from knpr; where's your script editor?vanessa –Mar 8, 2012 11:22:55 AM
Didn't the City of WPB condemn and purchase a massive block of land surrounding the Kravis Center? As I recall it was ~ 2 square miles.Michael Bleau –Mar 8, 2012 09:56:07 AM
