Don Jose should probably have loved the one he was with - and the one his mother wanted him to marry - Micaela. Instead he chases the fiery gypsy Carmen to a tragic death. Parisian audiences were initially cool to Georges Bizet's opera when it was first performed but it has now become a classic that is regularly performed. Under the direction of Linda Lister, UNLV Opera Theater will be presenting "Carmen" this weekend.
