We can remember those special teachers who had a profound affect on our lives.  When we were in their classroom their passion and energy sparked within us creativity and drive.  How do they do it?  When half of teachers quit the profession within the first five years, how do some teachers recharge that energy year in and year out and motivate our students to great achievement?

COMMENTS:
Thank you for this segment. With all the bad news related to education -- budget cuts, union scuffles, controversial reform -- it's refreshing to hear about teachers' ground-level successes. Education is not all about test scores and grades, and this was an inspiring reminder. Great callers this morning. Great conversation. Kudos.
