Some of the strongest criticisms of the Affordable Care Act have come from small business groups. But the act also has supporters in the business community. Representatives of both sides join us to talk about the pluses and minuses of the health care reform law that was passed in 2009. We talk about the regulation, the cost of insurance as well as the new benefits and subsidies available to small businesses.
I have written an article that will be published in the Nevada Law Journal on May 11, 2012 regarding how the government can use market forces to fix the health care system. It discusses the idea of insurance exhanges and a new concept called a doctor exchange, combined into one Health Care Exchange to provide incentives to all parties in the health care market (insurers, doctors, and patients) to lower costs. It can be found at 12 Nev. L.J. 868 or you can email me at brackenhL@gmail.com for a .pdf copy if you are interested.Bracken Longhurst –May 9, 2012 11:14:17 AM
