Safe Haven: Is the Law Helping Save Children
Safe Haven: Is the Law Helping Save Children

Listen
AIR DATE: May 25, 2012

The Nevada Safe Haven Law was enacted in 2001.  This lets parents hand over their babies at hospitals, police stations, or fire stations, so long as the baby isn't more than 30 days old.  The law aimed to prevent people from abandoning their babies in dumpsters or elsewhere.  Have parents used the Safe Haven law in Nevada?  And how has it affected childrens' lives?
