The Affordable Care Act - What now in Nevada

AIR DATE: June 29, 2012
LISTEN TO M3U | DOWNLOAD MP3

The United States Supreme Court has finally made its judgment on the constitutionality of Affordable Care Act. So what happens now? How do the uninsured get insurance? Will the Health Exchange work? So will the individual mandate - the requirement to buy health insurance - be so unpopular that Republicans will be able to repeal it? What does it mean for Nevada? How will it shape health care in Clark County?

COMMENTS:
The first thing out of Randi Thompson's mouth was WRONG. It's not the biggest tax increase in US history and will only affect maybe 2% of the population. Pretty much everything Ms. Thompson said in this program is wrong, false and straight from the GOP/Fox talking points.

No matter how one views this issue politically, here are some simple facts: 1) when something is "free" demand increases, hence prices will rise in quasi-monopolistic industries like health care, and 2) the government is very inefficient and even incompetent in just about everything it does, so to expect government-run health insurance or health care to be of good quality and good value is delusional. Mark my words, nothing good will come of this: as bad and screwed up as our existing system is, under Obamacare prices will go up, quality will go down, and the consumer will be treated even more shabbily. And, more generally, taxes and the national debt will skyrocket and crush the economy.

I read that Judge Roberts suffers from seizures.Neurologists say that seizure meds can introduce mental health slowing, forgetfulness and other cognitive issues. So tell me how is he able be one of the highest judges in the United States?Even under the law you can't legally sign your name etc...
