He was called the "liberal conscience of Nevada," a civil rights activist who worked to end segregation in 1950s Las Vegas. Ralph Denton was one of the few lawyers to take cases for the ACLU, hired the first African-American secretary, and helped African-American leaders improve conditions for minorities.  As one CSN history professor said, Ralph tackled tough issues because "it was the right thing to do."  Known for his shark-skin suits, bow tie, and cheery smile, he also ran in a number of Democratic races.  We listen back on a "State of Nevada" interview with Ralph Denton.

COMMENTS:
I didnt know the man personaly however from reading his profile sounds just like my grand father who spoke out openly about how the goverment used the census to find and round up Japanese Americans during WW11 and put into concentration camps. Then he was bashed by an Los Angeles Times reporter. All this said wile he served his country in the US Navy as a courier of the blue prints for the X-15 rocket, top secret at the time. This state lost someone great!
