Americans for Prosperity, the conservative political advocacy group that funds advertisements across the country, may have to reveal their donor list after backing a candidate in the June primary in Nevada. The Las Vegas Sun reports the Nevada Democratic Party has filed a complaint with Secretary of State, Ross Miller after the group sent mailers in a state Senate race attacking state Senate candidate, Kelvin Atkinson.

 

Under federal rules groups like AFP don't have to disclose donors in federal races if they don't use words like "defeat" or "vote for" in their materials, but when they enter state contests the rules are different, and that could open up the group's donor list. Las Vegas Sun Reporter, Anjeanette Damon first reported on the story and she joins us to discuss whether AFP will have to disclose its highly private donor list.
