Ricky Towers: Building Community with Little League

AIR DATE: August 21, 2012
LISTEN TO M3U | DOWNLOAD MP3

Growing up in West Las Vegas, Ricky Towers remembers always going to the baseball field. Even after he lost two brothers to violence, baseball was there for him. Now, Ricky hopes the baseball diamond can be a haven to other West Las Vegas youth. He reintroduced Little League Baseball to the West side in 1993; his venture has gone from 75 kids to hundreds of players. Ricky Towers joins us with stories of how Little League is giving kids - especially African American kids - an outlet, and how it's changing the face of West Las Vegas.
