Nevada received $57 million to address housing issues. The money is part of the settlement reached between the nation's five largest banks and 49 state attorneys. But how will the state use that money? Who will have access to it? The state attorney general wants to create a one-stop call center. Is that the best way to utilize the funds?

    COMMENTS:
How will our state legislature use these funds? The same way they use other funds, such as the tobacco settlement money-use it to plug budget holes and fund education instead of raising taxes on foreign mining corporations who are paying the same rate as they were when we were founded as a state! As for the victims of the foreclosure scam-its easy for others to call them names and ridicule them when they haven't been victimized by the scam artists who ran off with people's savings. Those critical of these folks are probably the same people who believe that victims of other crimes were "just asking for it".

So, the government borrows money it does not have in order to give it to people that made bad investment decisions and/or took too much risk. Bottom line, responsible people bail out the irresponsible. How is that just?
