Another round of litigation over the Endoscopy Center of Southern Nevada has begun in the District Court in Las Vegas. This time, the injured patients are suing the health insurance company that sent them to the center run by disgraced owner of the center, Dr. Dipak Desai. They say the health insurer, Health Plan of Nevada, should have checked out the clinics where it was sending patients. United Healthcare, the parent company, argues that it was up to the state to license clinics and check them out.
