Last Thursday's shooting and car crash on the Las Vegas Strip was horrific, but it also raises questions about whether it was an isolated incident. In recent years, there have been some spectacular acts of violence - shootings on the casino floor at New York, New York, a murder-suicide at Excalibur, a bombing in a car park. What accounts for these incidents or are they truly random? And can casinos and public officials do more to improve the safety?
