Democrats and Republicans agree on most things for improving education in the state. The biggest gap, though, is how much those improvements should cost. This week Democrats announced their education proposals at a cost of 310 million dollars on top of the Governor Sandoval's budget. What do Republicans have to say about how much money should go to education?

    COMMENTS:
I've said it before in this venue, and I'll say it again... As one familiar with both the K-12 and NSHE budget details, I would suggest that both could easily be cut by at least 1/3 without negatively impacting education. The amount of waste and inefficiency is far beyond astounding, and any bureaucrat that says otherwise is, in my opinion, either a liar or an idiot! Hopefully, the Republicans are sensible enough to realize this instead of caving in to tax increases (which are *always* economically harmful).
