Alex Shear has amassed a collection of over 100,000 20th century pop culture artifacts over the last 30 years. His professional life has gone from designing housewares to lending items from his own collection to museums. Last Winter he visited Las Vegas as UNLV lecture guest discussing his quest to preserve popular culture, from toys to grocery packaging to outrageous shoes. Not surprisingly he finds Las Vegas a treasure trove of pop culture and KNPR's Flo Rogers recorded his comments on a driving tour of some of Las Vegas's neon.
