A few different plans for a sports arena in Las Vegas have emerged over the past few years. One of those was pitched by Texas-based developer Chris Milam for a multi-venue sports complex in Henderson near the M Resort.  That project ran into trouble recently when the City of Henderson sued Milam for allegedly planning to flip the arena land and build homes instead. We'll break down the lawsuit and ask whether or not an arena was ever really a real possibility.

    COMMENTS:
Too bad this arena has become such a mess, for it seems an ideal location. One of the leading alternatives - building one on the UNLV campus - would be a total disaster due to traffic congestion around the university and airport, consuming land that should be used for academic buildings, and making a state-run business of what should really be a private business. As it is, Thomas & Mack Center (which rarely has official university events anyway) creates absolutely HUGE traffic and parking problems on and around campus and the airport all of the time.
