Michael Squires, Friday Host

Michael Squires has been a journalist for over ten years. He is currently an Assistant City Editor at the Las Vegas Review-Journal, where he has worked since 2000. Squires was the newspaper's first 'Road Warrior' traffic columnist. He penned the column until 2003, when he moved to the Review-Journal's Las Vegas City Hall bureau. Before relocating to Las Vegas he spent three years working for the Dow Jones News Service in New York City. In 2002, the Nevada Press Association named him its Journalist of Merit. Squires has a bachelor's degree in English from Brigham Young University and a master's degree in journalism from Columbia University. He is married and has three children.

Richard E. Copeland, Producer/ Technical Director, rich@knpr.org

Rich Copeland has more than 13 years experience in radio as a director, writer, producer and on-air announcer. He has worked as a producer for both KLAV 1230 AM and KRLV 1340 AM in Las Vegas. Copeland also worked as the booking producer and production director for Talk America Radio Network in Las Vegas. For WVCS 91.9 FM in Pittsburgh he worked as on-air talent and, prior to his current position, as a part-time announcer for Nevada Public Radio.

Danielle Branton, Web Producer and Online Content Coordinator, danielle@knpr.org

Danielle Branton joined us in September 2007. As an avid KNPR fan, she is thrilled to combine her three loves, writing and designing for the web, fitness and now Nevada Public Radio. She owned 2 Bytes Web Design for 9 years in Las Vegas Nevada. Danielle relaxes by running on the local trails around town. She holds a B.A. from UCSB.

Carolyn Kresser, Producer/Researcher, carolyn@knpr.org

Carolyn Kresser joined us in December 2006 having worked in the news media for the previous five years. For half of that time she worked as a Newscast Producer at the ABC affiliate in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She then moved to Las Vegas where she produced the 10pm Newscast on FOX5. Carolyn also interned at talk-radio station WMT in Cedar Rapids, IA. Kresser graduated from the University Of Iowa in 2002.

Alicia Barney, Producer, alicia@knpr.org

Alicia Barney has written and reported for multiple sections of Newsweek magazine as well as local magazines and newspapers in Utah. Barney graduated from Brigham Young University with a degree in Print Journalism and Political Science. She's originally from Seattle, and has been with State of Nevada since June of 2007.

Ian Mylchreest, Producer, ian@knpr.org

Born in Sydney, Australia, Ian Mylchreest became editor of the Las Vegas Business Press in 2003, having previously been appointed editor of the Las Vegas Senior Press. He has also written for the Las Vegas Review-Journal and Exhibit City News. Mylchreest still moonlights at the College of Southern Nevada teaching US History. Married with two teenage daughters, he is a fanatical New York Mets' fan, which should cause SoN host Dave Berns some angst, especially now that the Yankees are 11 games behind. He is a political buff who loves reading, opera, and skiing.
