Two rival burlesque groups -- the Burlesque Hall of Fame and a newishly formed breakaway group -- are locked in busty battle -- and lawsuits. The weapons in the fight: famous names such as Dixie Evans and Tempest Storm. From the Wall Street Journal:
With tasseled lingerie and top-drawer lawyers, the Burlesque Hall of Fame here is girding for a showdown with a group of striptease rivals. The nonprofit Hall of Fame is facing off against a breakaway burlesque show slated for June 4, the same weekend as the Hall's annual fund-raiser. The splinter group, led by two former Hall board members, named their event "Sassy Lassy" after a club long associated with the Hall of Fame. The group also wooed away two of the Hall's biggest attractions: octogenarian exotic dancers Dixie Evans and Tempest Storm, stalwarts of the Hall's "Legends of Burlesque" show.
