Campaign Dollars For Attorney General's Race Most Expensive

The race for Nevada attorney general has eclipsed the lieutenant governor's race as the most expensive this campaign cycle in terms of TV spending.

A database from the nonprofit Center for Public Integrity shows the candidates and their supporters have purchased $1.5 million in TV time so far. The numbers count the cost of air time, but don't include money used to produce the spots themselves.

Republican underdog Adam Laxalt is leading the spending, with his campaign and two Republican fundraising organizations pouring $844,000 into commercials so far. Some of the ads criticize his opponent for accepting gifts. Democratic front-runner Ross Miller's campaign and the state party have spent $690,000 on ads, including some criticizing Laxalt's performance as a lawyer.
