Another Measles Case In Clark County, Maybe In Washoe County

Health officials today confirmed a second case of measles in Clark County.

Jennifer Sizemore, public information manager for the Southern Nevada Health District, said an adult came down with the disease and was not associated with a previously confirmed case at Valley High School.

The case at Valley was the first in the area since 2011. About 30 students were kept out of classes for not having up-to-date immunizations and were scheduled to be back at school today,

Meanwhile, health officials are investigating two possible measles cases in northern Nevada, and have said that unvaccinated and at-risk people should stay away from Spanish Springs Elementary School near Reno to avoid possible exposure.

The Washoe County Health District said two people showed measles-like symptoms.  One attended the elementary school and the other may have infected co-workers. The workplace wasn't disclosed.
