Reid Brother Pleads No Contest To 2 Misdemeanors In DUI Case

LAS VEGAS (AP) — A lawyer entered no contest pleas for U.S. Sen. Harry Reid's 73-year-old brother on misdemeanor driving under the influence and resisting arrest charges to close a case stemming from an arrest five months ago.

Attorney David Brown says he entered the written pleas Tuesday for Larry Joe Reid and paid almost $1,200 in fines.

Boulder City Justice of the Peace Victor Miller dismissed misdemeanor battery, weapon, failure to comply and seatbelt charges.

Brown says the case is resolved.

Larry Reid already fulfilled DUI school and victim-impact classes, and his lawyer says he's happy to have the case resolved.

Reid was arrested about mid-day Feb. 2, after Nevada Highway Patrol trooper reported finding him sitting in his SUV on a highway 95 median near Searchlight, Nevada.
