Las Vegas Doctor Sentenced In Drug Party Case

LAS VEGAS (AP) — A Las Vegas doctor accused of supplying drugs to partygoers and undercover police on the Strip and at his home has been sentenced to five years of probation.

KSNV-TV reports that orthopedic surgeon Andrew Scott Martin was sentenced Monday on three counts of possession of a controlled substance. A plea deal in March had eliminated seven other felony drug charges.

Police had tracked Martin's parties in a nearly year-long undercover operation. Police have claimed marijuana, cocaine and ecstasy were used at parties at Martin's Henderson home and at a Trump Hotel suite on the Strip.

In court Monday, Martin apologized for his actions.

Martin's medical license had initially been suspended following the allegations. The license is now on probation, and he is back to work.
