Applicants For Dispensary Jobs Face Fierce Competition

LAS VEGAS (AP) — As Clark County medical marijuana dispensaries wait to begin operating, many in Las Vegas are clamoring for a job in the growing industry.

KSBV-TV reports that the Las Vegas Releaf Medical Marijuana Dispensary has received more than 1,000 applications for about 40 open positions.

Launch Manager Michael Hayford says the business will open hopefully sometime in September. Las Vegas dispensaries have stalled as they wait for cultivators to provide products for sale. He says new employees could begin work at the end of the month in preparation of opening.

How is Las Vegas' healthcare system really doing, and what does it mean for you and your family? Desert Companion's Health Issue takes a deep dive into these questions and explores how heart-centered business leaders prove that doing good benefits the bottom line.
