LVCVA Considering Giving President Raise
The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority is considering giving its president and CEO a $100,000 raise spread out over the next two years, along with a bonus equal to 40 percent of his current salary.
Rossi Ralenkotter has led the agency since 2004. If approved, his base salary would jump to $369,654 this year and $419,654 in the next fiscal year according to the proposal. A one-time bonus of $127,862 is also proposed.
This is happening as the public agency embarks on expanding the Las Vegas Convention Center, primarily through funding provided by nightly taxes paid by tourists staying in southern Nevada hotels.
The agency's compensation committee is recommending Ralenkotter be given the raise and bonus. The full board is expected to consider both at its Sept. 8 meeting.
