Death Of California Woman Who Died After Laundry Chute Fall Ruled Accidental

The death of a California woman whose body was found last month in a Las Vegas hotel-casino laundry chute has been ruled accidental.

The Clark County Coroner's office said 26-year-old Kalli Medina-Brown of Citrus Heights died of blunt force injuries in an accident.

Las Vegas police initially investigated the early morning incident on Feb. 21 as a suspicious death but soon closed the case.

Authorities said they believe she tumbled on her own from the 18th floor to the laundry collection area on the third floor at the D Hotel and Casino.

The downtown Las Vegas property is a 34-story hotel with almost 640 rooms.

Medina-Brown's family said she was in town with her husband to celebrate her 27th birthday.
