Governor Orders Nevada Flags Lowered After Belgium Attacks
CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — Gov. Brian Sandoval has ordered flags in Nevada lowered to half-staff to honor victims of deadly attacks in Brussels, Belgium.
Sandoval's order takes effect Tuesday and runs through sunset on Saturday.
The governor said the people of Nevada stand with the victims after the bombings in an airport and a subway station that killed at least 34 people and wounded scores of others.
The Islamic State has claimed responsibility for the attacks.
Sandoval said state law enforcement will continue to monitor the situation and remain in contact with their local and federal partners.
