Biden Stumps For Cortez Masto In Las Vegas

Vice President Joe Biden stumped for Democratic Senate candidate Catherine Cortez Masto during a visit Thursday evening to an outdoor pedestrian mall.

Biden walked through the Downtown Container Park with Cortez Masto around 5 p.m., greeting people and introducing them to her.

The two politicians stopped at ChillSpot by SasaSweets for frozen treats. The vice president asked if there was ice cream before choosing a coconut-flavored drink. Cortez Masto had a mango-flavored one.

Biden earlier in day had appeared with Lady Gaga at the University of Nevada Las Vegas for an event promoting the "It's On Us" White House initiative, which urges people to support sex assault victims and intervene when consent is questionable.

Cortez Masto, the former state attorney general, is in a competitive race for the Senate seat being vacated by Harry Reid.
