Nevada Unemployment Still Under Five Percent

Nevada's unemployment rate fell to 4.8 percent in March, down from 4.9 percent in February.

It's the second month in a row the rate has been under five percent.

According to Bill Andersson, the state’s chief economist of research and analysis, the state’s jobs declined by 2,100 over the month, but jobs increased by 38,000 over the year.

Anderson said yearly reports are a more accurate measure of the market. 

Construction has had the biggest percentage in job growth. It is up 7.4 percent or 5,400 jobs year-to-date. Leisure and hospitality, and professional and business services has had the largest nominal growth at 8,400 jobs.
