Bundy Trial Delayed In Wake Of Mass Shooting

A federal judge has delayed the trial of members of the Cliven Bundy family and supporters in the wake of the October 1 mass shooting.

The trial was scheduled to resume Monday, but U.S. District Court Judge Gloria Navarro granted a motion seeking the delay, moving the resumption date back to October 30.

She also denied requests to move the trial to Reno or pick a new jury pool.

The Nevada Independent reports the federal public defender representing Montana militiaman Ryan Payne told the court last Monday that the shootings would, as he said, “prevent the defendants from having a fair trial in this city one week from now.”
