Recreational Marijuana Revenue In Mesquite Ahead Of Expectations

The city of Mesquite is ahead of budget expectations from marijuana sales.

The Mesquite Spectrum reports the city has already collected more than half the amount of money projected after just three months of recreational marijuana sales.

The 2017-18 budget calls for $240,000, from a 3 percent business license fee on total revenue.

Deep Roots Harvest is the only cannabis establishment in the city, and first quarter totals indicate the city collected more than $132,000 from the business.
