Officer Accidentally Fired Shot Inside Las Vegas Shooter's Suite
A Las Vegas Metropolitan police officer shot his or her weapon inside the Mandalay Bay suite used by the shooter during the October 1 massacre.
According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Clark County Sheriff Joe Lombardo said Monday that the officer, who has not been named, accidentally discharged the weapon at some point after officers gained entry into the suite.
It was not in the same room where Stephen Paddock’s body was found. Paddock died from a self-inflicted gunshot.
Lombardo said “nobody was struck” by the officer’s shot, but confirms the discharge is under investigation.
