Investigation Finds Wooster High Coach Bullied Student And Made Racist Comments

The Washoe County School District has relieved a baseball and volleyball coach at Wooster High School in Reno of his coaching duties after an investigation concluded he bullied and made racist comments to one of his varsity volleyball players.

Ron Malcolm will retain his job as a teacher in southeast Reno and is appealing the district’s decision to remove him as a coach.

The Reno Gazette-Journal reports the findings of the investigation were detailed in a letter written November 13 by Wooster Principal Leah Keuscher.

The report said the incident happened during a volleyball practice in October. The coach had the team play a game of “compliments and insults” after plays made.

After the player in question made an error, Malcolm said: “You’re black.”
