Excessive Heat Warning In Effect For Southwestern U.S.

An excessive heat warning was issued today for almost the entire southwest region of the United States.

In Phoenix, temperatures are expected to approach 120 degrees while most of Arizona and southern Nevada will experience temperatures from 112 to 119 degrees through Wednesday.

The heat warning extended to southeastern California and parts of Utah.

Officials are warning residents to stay inside when possible and to stay hydrated.

The number of heat-related deaths in Nevada is the highest in the country. In 2017, there were 123 heat-related deaths in Clark County.
