Rep. Titus Wants Federal Prosecutors To Look Into Storey Co. Sheriff

Democratic Representative Dina Titus is requesting federal prosecutors examine sexual harassment claims into Storey County Sheriff Gerald Antinoro.

The request comes just weeks after Attorney General Adam Laxalt’s office said no criminal charges could be brought against the sheriff.

The Nevada Independent reports Titus urged the U.S. attorney for Nevada, Dayle Elieson to look into the claims as soon as possible.

Former Storey County Deputy Melanie Keenor is suing Antinoro over sexual harassment, and affidavits from her case revealed that at least 10 sexual harassment, discrimination or wrongful employment complaints have been submitted against the sheriff since he took office in 2010.

Laxalt’s office announced earlier this month that it would not pursue criminal charges against Antinoro after it concluded an investigation into the matter.
